Many people are aware of the phrase, “smile makeover” due to its use in the media. Sometimes a smile makeover can be as simple as teeth whitening or veneers, but other times it can be a more complex process. During these complex treatments, the makeover can become a full mouth reconstruction.
You may be a good candidate for a smile makeover if you have both restorative and cosmetic needs. Many people who choose to undergo a smile makeover want to reverse the signs of aging and lifestyle habits, such as smoking or drinking coffee. At the same time, they may also have a need to improve function or general oral health with treatments such as dental crowns or tooth replacement. If you are in the market for a complete upgrade of your smile, we are here to help you with personal care that we design around your needs and expectations.
Research strongly indicates physical and emotional benefits associated with cosmetic dentistry. When it comes to a full smile makeover, the changes are even more dramatic. Smile makeovers take patients from a place of feeling embarrassed about their smile and the condition of their teeth to a level of confidence in themselves that they may have never known. According to multiple studies on cosmetic dentistry, a smile makeover can make a person appear several years younger.
The attractiveness that is created in the smile exudes not only friendliness and youthful exuberance but also an air of confidence and success. We have learned through practical experience that having an attractive smile can open doors professionally and socially, so why not explore how we can help you transform your facial esthetic with a smile makeover?
Determining whether a simple smile makeover or a complex full mouth reconstruction is right for a patient starts with a review of previous dental history and in-depth discussion regarding the desired outcome of cosmetic care. The beauty of a full smile makeover is that we tailor treatment to the individual. If you’ve got stubborn stains diminishing the appearance of your smile, or gaps in between teeth, a turned tooth, or other concerns, we are happy to speak with you about how we can help.

The cost of a smile makeover will vary from one person to another. Final costs factor in details like insurance coverage for certain restorative procedures, if available, and the full extent of care that is necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Our practice is committed to working with patients to help them achieve their goals. We offer several payment options for costs that are not covered by dental insurance, including Care Credit and pay-as-you-go plans.
There are far more benefits to a smile makeover than there are risks. Certain procedures, such as tooth extraction, root canal therapy, and dental implants do carry a risk of infection. However, our careful treatment protocols and your conscientious care of your teeth and gums combine to significantly reduce risks.

A smile makeover reconstruction may include everything from dental implants, porcelain veneers, and / or teeth whitening. Dr. Goldberg works with each patient to personalize the best plan for their individual cosmetic dentistry needs and desires. Procedures involved in our smile makeover process span areas of restorative, cosmetic, and reconstructive dentistry.
Examples of restorative and reconstructive treatments include:
• Tooth-colored fillings
• Root canal therapy
• Dental crowns, bridges, inlays, or onlays
• Dental implants
Any one or more of these treatments may be combined with cosmetic procedures, such as:
• Teeth whitening
• Porcelain veneers or dental bonding
• Gum contouring
There is typically no actual “downtime” associated with cosmetic and restorative dental work involved in smile makeovers. The most time that a patient may need to allot for recovery is the remainder of the day after treatment that includes sedation. This is because oral and IV sedatives take time to wear off and grogginess may linger for several hours.
Certain types of treatments may have a short recovery period, such as tooth extraction or dental implant placement. After such treatments, patients will be able to return to normal activities within a few days, but may want to consume softer foods while tissues heal. We value clear communication and positive treatment experiences. During your consultation, we will discuss associated recovery for proposed procedures so you have no question about how to plan for your personal smile makeover.
